SAT

The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized college admission test widely used in the United States. It measures students’ readiness for college and provides colleges with a common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.It can also influence scholarship opportunities and placement in college courses.

The SAT consists of three main sections:

1. Reading

  • Measures comprehension and analysis of written texts, including literature, history, social studies, and science.

2. Writing and Language

  • Tests grammar, punctuation, and understanding of the structure of written English through editing and revising passages.

3. Math

  • Calculator: Includes advanced math concepts and data analysis.
  • No Calculator: Focuses on basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.

Optional Essay:

    • The SAT also offers an optional essay section where students analyze a provided argument. However, many colleges do not require this section.

Test Duration:

  • The total test time is approximately 3 hours, plus an additional 50 minutes if you choose to take the essay.
